Sisyphus
03:59
|
|||
Diary entry that just wouldn't take
When the day doesn't go to sleep it's awake
Every clever word I sat and wrote
Only for it to swallow down its black throat
Something has wandered into the trap
History in a bundle sat in my lap
It’s a car crash smouldering
Cut it off should the hand refuse to write
Make an example to the left of the right
Sisyphus, catch it and wrap it in silk
Never mind it if it should cry out for milk

Is there a creature who is trying to
say something to you?

The Vehicle
06:39
|
|||
Kneeling down under a sign
“Prayers for the bomb to fall”
Living, hysteria in mind
Open to all that drops out of the sky
Although I do know your name
I’m choking on it again
I see sunlight on the ground
But do not feel it around
Cars are waiting for you
Purring, enduring
Vehicles are waiting for you
With churning obscuring wheels

Bully
07:47
|
|||
The flashbulb makes you turn
And see them both standing there
Clicking the wheel of a disposable camera
How did they discern
To make the shutter fall
And where is the bully that keeps us up on our toes?
And the whole town can see
And the whole town is free
A wheel to click and turn
This is the animal
A man on the riverbank sat cross-legged on the stones
The river there to see
Asking no questions but
Making the flailing limbs stop
Sinking in the sand
Be the bricks that build my castle, keeping them from me
With the song I took from them to chant my unbelief

Idiot's Throne
03:49
|
|||
Let me die on this hideous throne
Exalting in each new junk-piece
Beating my breast, clearing my throat with sand
Clean forgetting, long ago it was the kiss-off

Big Players
05:21
|
|||
Used to be a piece of wasteground
To stand upon
Like a boat to an island
Take It home
From the corners, eyes open
Big players, heartbroken
Just a speck on a glass lens
On your own
In the squint of a rifle
Laid upon
Don’t move a muscle, it’ll get spilled
There’s only the holes, to be filled
